What to Combine with Qwo

Have you heard about Qwo? It’s the first and thus-far only FDA-approved, non-surgical, injectable treatment for cellulite. Qwo works well to treat cellulite on your thighs and buttocks. But there are other things you can combine with your Qwo treatment for even better results.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the appearance of an uneven or dimpled surface on the skin. It commonly occurs on the backs of the thighs and buttocks and is much more common in women than in men. It’s though that about 90% of women have cellulite at some point. You can have cellulite even if you’re thin.

Cellulite is a complex condition because there are multiple factors that contribute to its appearance. Under your skin you have a layer of fat; and under your fat you have muscle. In the layer of fat there are fibrous bands called septae that connect your skin with the muscle. Sometimes these bands get thick and firm and pull down on the skin, leading to the indentation. At the same time, you lose collagen in your skin. Collagen is responsible for keeping your skin firm. When you start to lose collagen, it’s easier for the bands to pull down on your skin and cause cellulite.

Since there are multiple factors that contribute to the appearance of cellulite, for best results you want to address all of them. Qwo will break the fibrous bands. You can also combine your Qwo treatment with products and other treatments that will stimulate collagen in your skin.

What is Qwo?

Qwo is an enzyme that breaks down the fibrous bands that pull down on your skin to form cellulite. Qwo is an easy treatment that only takes a few minutes. You’ll need three sessions spaced out every six weeks or so. You’ll see long-term improvement of your cellulite with Qwo: one to two years, and possibly longer. Qwo was just released so there is only data available for the first year. You can expect bruising after your Qwo treatment, so be prepared for that.

Laser Skin Tightening

Laser Skin Tightening is an outstanding treatment to combine with Qwo. Laser Skin Tightening uses gentle micro-pulses of infrared light to slowly and gently heat up the deeper layers of your skin. This stimulates your skin to form new, fresh, and healthy collagen. This will in turn tighten and firm up your skin, which makes it harder for any fibrous bands to pull down on your skin. You’ll want a series of six Laser Skin Tightening treatments and you can have two Laser Skin Tightening after each Qwo treatment and space them two weeks apart.

Alastin Transform Body Treatment

The Alastin Transform Body Treatment is a topical product that contains multiple ingredients that will both help the appearance of your skin and help stimulate collagen even more. The Alastin Transform Body Treatment is easy to use and you can use it throughout your Qwo and Laser Skin Tightening Treatments. Use the Alastin Transform Body Treatment twice daily on your skin.
